Devin Vaughn
Education and Expertise
Mr Vaughn graduated cum laude from Illinois College (B.S. in Management and Organizational Leadership; Minor in Spanish) in 2012. Mr. Vaughn received his Master of Arts (U.S. History) from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2016 and his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University School of Law in December 2018.
During law school, Mr. Vaughn was a summer clerk for the law firm of Grosboll, Tice, Barr and Courtney in Petersburg, Illinois and upon graduation from law school, Mr. Vaughn was employed as an associate attorney for the firm. In April 2021, Mr. Vaughn was appointed as the Assistant Morgan County Public Defender. In April 2023, Mr. Vaughn was elected by the sitting judges of the Seventh Circuit to be the Chief Public Defender in Morgan County.
Mr. Vaughn was born and raised in central Illinois growing up in Virginia and Jacksonville and attending Routt Catholic High School. Mr. Vaughn resides in Jacksonville with his wife Madalyn (Allen) and their sons, Baker and Judge.
Mr. Vaughn is a general practitioner and handles a wide range of cases including family law, custody, divorce, estate planning and administration, criminal and DUI defense, real estate transactions and guardianships.
